About Us

Student Accommodations and Disability Resource provides accommodations and services to incoming and current WSU students with disabilities, psychological or medical conditions, or temporary injuries that limit their access to the educational environment. Some examples of our accommodations and services are testing accommodations (reduced distraction testing environment, extended time, etc.), note-taking, alternative print media, and time management or organizational skill development.

Mission Statement

Student Accommodations and Disability Resource supports the self-determination and development of students with disabilities by removing barriers to academic success, promoting self-advocacy, and providing support to foster student learning and engagement in all opportunities available at the university. Student Accommodations and Disability Resource will achieve this mission by adhering to our core values as we collaborate with students, faculty, and the greater campus community.

Vision

Student Accommodations and Disability Resource collaborates with the institution's diverse community to ensure that all aspects of campus life—learning, working, and living –are universally accessible. The center provides the institution with resources, education, and direct services so that people with disabilities may have a greater opportunity to realize social justice and achieve equity.

Privacy

At Student Accommodations and Disability Resources, we are committed to safeguarding the privacy and rights of our students. Under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), students have the right to access their educational records and control the disclosure of their personal information. If a student would like another party (e.g., parent or guardian) to have access to their information or to speak with their Student Accommodation Specialist, the student needs to complete a Release of Information form. This form can be either submitted to our front desk or emailed to accommodations@wsu.edu.
